Ahead of AC Milan’s fixture against Verona, Paulo Fonesca revelaed that he will be without Alvaro Morata in his press conference.
Morata’s start to life in Milan has certainly been interesting, and it would be fair to suggest that the Spaniard has been polarising in some capacity.
With the need for a goalscorer to replace Olivier Giroud, the Rossoneri looked to Morata – a player who, theoretically, could provide similar traits to those lost as the Frenchman departed – and whilst he may be a leader, he has not filled a void in the goal department.
In the same breath, Tammy Abraham’s contriubtions have also been hard to come by, so it has made the transition period difficult. However, Fabio Capello believes that it is still a move that holds potential for the future.
On Friday, Milan will have to make do without the former Atletico Madrid stiker, as revealed by Paulo Fonseca in his pre-match press conference.
“I say that we are having trouble with the players. I said that we had no injuries, and then after that, we started [he laughs]. Pulisic had arrived from the national team with a problem, now Musah and Loftus. We also have Okafor, we also have Morata with tonsillitis. But that’s how it is, it’s an opportunity for the young players.”
