Footage of Gus Hamer's celebration after setting up the first goal against Stoke City has got Blades supporters laughing.

Sheffield United's Gustavo Hamer caught the eye with his celebration on Saturday afternoon, after setting up Mark McGuinness for the first goal of the afternoon in a 4-0 victory over Stoke City.

Chris Wilder's side continued their recent resurgence with a stunning 4-0 win over Mark Robins' high-flying Potters on Saturday, with goals from McGuinness, Femi Seriki, Patrick Bamford, and Sydie Peck wrapping up the three points in style for the Blades.

However, United's midfield maestro Hamer caught the eye of his supporters after setting up the first goal of the afternoon, when his corner was headed home by the Irish defender inside the first ten minutes.

Footage has emerged on the club's official X account of the goal and the celebrations, in which some eagle-eyed fans have managed to lip-read what Hamer was saying to the travelling supporters after the goal.

The midfielder had clearly been on the receiving end of some stick whilst taking the corner, and was seen mouthing back what had been said to him by the away fans, which had Sheffield United supporters in stitches in the comments.

As is often the case in football, fans often try to get into an opposition set-piece taker's head when they come over to take a corner or free-kick within earshot of the stands, in hopes of putting them off.

However, Hamer had the last laugh with the Stoke fans on Saturday, when his pinpoint cross into the box was crashed home by McGuinness, to give his side the lead inside 10 minutes at Bramall Lane.

After the match, footage emerged on Sheffield United's official X account, showing the goal and celebrations. In this footage, Hamer can be seen saying something to the Stoke supporters, which some have managed to lip-read.

Based on the footage, the travelling supporters had been chanting about Hamer being "fat" in a bid to put him off, and ended up looking rather silly when he delivered the perfect ball into the box to open the scoring.

In the ensuing celebrations, the Dutchman can be seen saying back what the Stoke fans were saying to him, mocking their attempt to try and put him off taking the corner, before telling them what to do in some rather choice words.

It's fair to say that Hamer had the last laugh, as United ran riot over the Potters, securing a 4-0 victory and further climbing the table.

Blades supporters were quick to decipher what was said by Hamer in the celebrations, and they found it hilarious, as it's always funny to see a player give some stick back after taking it, as is the nature of the banter in English football.

In the comments of the post on X, plenty of Sheffield United fans were quick to laugh at what Hamer said back to the Stoke supporters, after helping get his side up and running for the afternoon.

"Lip reading Gus is amazing," said one Blades supporter after working out what the midfielder was saying.

Another deemed that Hamer's actions were "top notch," after he took some stick from the away stand.

Another few supporters found their star man's message back to the Stoke supporters to be very funny, as their attempt to put him off massively backfired.
