Forest blow as Jhon Lucumi ‘to prioritise’ Italy with Man United in race | OneFootball

Nottingham Forest have suffered a setback in their bid to sign Bologna centre-back Jhon Lucumi after his summer priority emerged and competition intensified.

According to Il Resto del Carlino, the centre-back, in the final 12 months of his contract, is wanted by Sunderland, Inter and Juventus, will prioritise staying in Italy, Juventus have already tried to meet Bologna's valuation by proposing Vasilije Adzic in a swap, and Manchester United and Al-Hilal have also entered the race with talk of an Old Trafford move beginning to swirl.

Forest are targeting defensive reinforcements amid uncertainty over Nikola Milenkovic's future and Murillo's injury, and they have also been linked with Arthur Theate, Lloyd Kelly and Ousmane Diomande.

Lucumi has been strongly connected with a move to the City Ground since Colombia's World Cup exit, but landing the 28-year-old now looks challenging.

He was understood to have had a €25m release clause that has expired, and he could be available for less, although Bologna are keen to keep him.
