Nottingham Forest are weighing right-back options, with Fiorentina’s Dodo linked and Feyenoord’s Givairo Read sparking debate over a rejected offer, as Oliver Glasner gets to work.
According to Viola News, playing in the Premier League would be a wish come true for Dodo, who is said to be almost certain to leave Fiorentina this summer despite talks with Napoli, Roma and Inter. Forest and Newcastle United are said to have enquired, and with 12 months left on his deal he is valued at €16-17m (£13.5-14.5m).
Forest were reported to have had a €17.5m (£15m) offer for Read turned down. Voetbal International expect Glasner’s side to try again, though a significantly higher bid would be required.
It is claimed €25m (£21m) might bring Feyenoord to the table. On the RTV Rijnmond podcast, pundit Dennis van Eersel said the initial proposal could not be taken seriously, likening it to offering €8,000 for a Porsche, and argued €30m (£25m) or more would be needed, with €25m a figure to start talks.
Glasner met his squad on Monday as pre-season began at the Nigel Doughty Academy, with preparations under way for the 2026/27 campaign.
