A one-time member of the midfield ranks at La Liga champions Barcelona is all set to link back up with the club in a coaching role.
That’s according to Carrusel Deportivo, who point towards Thiago Alcântara as the player in question.
The name of ex-Blaugrana standout Thiago reemerged as a prominent one in the headlines in Catalunya’s capital earlier this summer.
This came after reports were forthcoming in the media, assuring that the Spaniard was all set to rejoin Hansi Flick and his coaching staff.
Thiago afforded a helping hand to Barca’s headmaster upon his arrival last summer, and played an important role in Flick’s settling-in process.
Such claims were then denied by other sources, adamant that Flick saw no need for the 34-year-old in his setup.
But as alluded to above, if the latest word stemming from the media late this week is anything to go by, then Thiago is indeed all set to take his coaching talents back to the Ciutat Esportiva for the season ahead.
As per a report from Carrusel Deportivo, citing info from Barcelona insider Adria Albets:
‘Thiago Alcântara will return to Barca. The former footballer will soon rejoin the ‘staff’ and will be part of the technical team during the season.
‘Flick highly values his contribution during the 2024 preseason and will count on him again.’
