Jean-Claude Blanc the former CEO at Paris Saint-Germain was appointed the interim CEO of Manchester United on the 30th of April when Patrick Stewart stepped down from the role.

According to L’Équipe, until July when Omar Berrada will take over the position permanently, Blanc will have a central place in restructuring the club and its workforce.

His role at Manchester United will only be temporary but Blanc has made a habit in his previous roles of becoming a quietly influential figure. A new era is beginning to take shape at the former Premier League winners, and that direction for the meantime will be steered by the Frenchman.

Blanc has been a key figure at INEOS Sport since leaving PSG in 2023 when he became CEO of the chemical company’s sporting department overseeing a portfolio which included football (most notably OGC Nice), Formula 1, sailing, cycling, rugby, and running.

After INEOS owner Jim Ratcliffe purchased a minority stake in Manchester United, Blanc was highly linked with becoming the next CEO of the club. A position that was eventually awarded to Berrada.
