A former England striker says Chelsea now have a player who can follow in the footsteps of Didier Drogba and Diego Costa.
Chelsea made a number of new signings in what was quite a busy summer transfer window for the Blues, especially early on. They got a lot of their incoming business done early on so that some new signings could help them in the Club world Cup.
Striker Joao Pedro arrived from Brighton and he very much did that, scoring and assisting goals to help Chelsea become Champions of the world over the summer. He has so far been a superb signing for The Blues and has continued his incredible start to life at the club by scoring and assisting so far in the Premier League openers.
The weight is now on his shoulders as well because Liam Delap is out injured until November and although Chelsea recalled striker Marc Guiu from his loan move at Sunderland, it is Pedro who is likely to be the main starter up top for Chelsea until Delap returns.

Former England and Liverpool striker Emile Heskey believes Pedro was a good signing and he can lead the line for Chelsea.
Speaking to EPL Index, Heskey said:
“I like the signing of Joao Pedro at Chelsea, I think he can now follow in the steps of Didier Drogba and Diego Costa to lead the line for Chelsea so well.”
Chelsea are reportedly interested in signing Liverpool defender Ibrahima Konate in January as his contract runs down and his club maybe forced to listen to offers!
Bayern insider Christian Falk says Bayern Munich could still sign Nicolas Jackson in the summer even without using the obligation to buy in his loan deal.
