Ex-Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey appeared on The Saturday Wrap for Premier League Productions on Saturday night, reflecting on the Gunners’ late win over Wolverhampton Wanderers.

It was a Yerson Mosquera own goal that gave Arsenal the victory, but Gabriel Jesus deserves some credit for putting the Wolves defender under the pressure that forced the mistake.

The striker could be seen on the live TV broadcast immediately admitting it was an own goal, but if he wasn’t there it would have been a simple clearance.

After 11 months out with an ACL injury, it’s nice to see Jesus involved in an important win, even if he won’t get any official credit for the winner.

Ramsey has had plenty of injury problems of his own over the years, and he was quick to praise the forward’s resilience to fight his way back to the pitch.

“Brilliant,” Ramsey said of Jesus’ return. “I know probably the amount of work that he had to put in to get back to where he is now. All the repetitions in the gym, mentally really challenging. Hard work is paying off. It’s great to see him back. He has so much quality.”

Football fans often undervalue the work that goes into returning from injury, simply because it all happens away from the TV cameras. It’s easy to just forget about a player when they spend 11 months on the sidelines, focusing on those on the pitch instead.

But Jesus has had to put in the work almost every single day throughout 2025 to reach this point, and it’s nice to see Ramsey paying tribute to that effort.
