Real Madrid are gearing up for a busy summer ahead. The club are expected to make fresh signings while making way for some of the existing stars to leave.
Perhaps more importantly, the Spanish giants must sort out their managerial position. Alvaro Arbeloa’s stint had started badly before stabilising. But as injuries crop up, the Spaniard appears to be losing trust slowly.
This has led many to believe that Real Madrid will hire a more experienced manager in the coming summer, having already been extensively linked with a move for Jurgen Klopp.
While Klopp is enjoying his new role at Red Bull, there is an interesting alternative in the form of Mauricio Pochettino.
Currently the head coach of the United States national team, Pochettino was recently asked about the Real Madrid managerial position, which could be empty in the coming summer.
In response, the Argentine offered a rather coy response but did not rule out anything.

“Well, everything in its time; timing in football is what always determines the course. Football will take you where it wants to, not where one wants,” he said (h/t El Chiringuito).
Formerly of PSG, Tottenham and Chelsea, Pochettino certainly has ample experience in managing top-flight teams.
He was notably able to lead Spurs to their first-ever Champions League final in 2019 while winning the Ligue 1 with PSG. His spells at PSG and Chelsea, though, weren’t exactly successful.
He is currently in charge of the US national team, which has yielded a relatively impressive record under the Argentine, securing 14 wins in 22 matches.
The upcoming 2026 World Cup will be a litmus test for the former Tottenham coach, especially considering the fact that US will play a host nation.
