Former Real Madrid star labels Kylian Mbappé ‘the best player in the world’ | OneFootball

A one-time member of the attacking ranks at La Liga giants Real Madrid has this week lavished the ultimate praise on current Blancos star Kylian Mbappé.

Frontman Mbappé, for his part, is of course fresh off what in the end proved to be a spectacular debut campaign in Spain’s capital.

After something of a shaky start following his arrival from Paris Saint-Germain, the Frenchman went on to rack up a hefty 43 goals across all competitions.

As much has since been followed by a further three in three to open the new season, too.

And safe to say, the significance of such endeavours has not gone at all unappreciated on the part of a former member of the frontline at the Santiago Bernabéu.

Speaking during an interview with Rio Ferdinand on the latter’s personal podcast this week, Michael Owen revealed his take that:

“Kylian Mbappé is the best player in the world. He can take a game away from someone. He’s got the ability to embarrass you, if he gets you out wide, a bit of skill, his touch, his pace, he can finish, he can take a game away.”
