Former Wydad AC captain Yahya Jabrane's publicly responded to club president Hicham Ait Menna after the latter blamed the collapse of the player’s return to the Moroccan giants on Jabrane’s failure to fulfill his commitments.

Speaking to Al Sabah newspaper earlier this week, Ait Menna said Wydad "honored its promises" but claimed Jabrane didn't uphold his side of the agreement leading to breakdown in negotiations.

The Casablanca club'd been in intense talks to re sign the defensive midfielder in the current summer transfer window but discussions reportedly became tense with unauthorized agents allegedly interfering in the process.

Jabrane’s Instagram Statement

In post on his official Instagram account, Jabrane wrote:

"After much hesitation and out of my sincere desire to avoid any statement that might harm the club’s interests, I want to send message to those who truly care about the team: Focus on the future and stop trying to mislead the fans or harm my image. My relationship with the supporters's deeper and greater than any attempt to damage it"

He added with pointed metaphor:

"When lies take the elevator and men take the stairs, it may take longer but the men always arrive in the end"

This statement all but confirms that Jabrane won't be returning to Wydad AC forcing the Red Devils to explore other options to strengthen their defensive midfield.
