Four City stars in friendly action | OneFootball

Gianluigi Donnarumma, Nathan Ake, Tijjani Reijnders and Rayan Ait-Nouri all featured for their respective nations in the latest round of international friendlies.

Donnarumma played the full 90 minutes of Italy’s clash away to Luxembourg, keeping a clean sheet in a 1-0 friendly win.

A youthful Italian side – the youngest they’ve fielded in 114 years - included eight debutants, and they did enough to earn a slender victory through Pio Esposito’s 49th-minute strike.

Our goalkeeper was rarely troubled, though he did smother a shot from Tomas de Sousa midway through the second half.

Italy are next in action on Sunday 7 June, when they face Greece in another international friendly from 20:00 (UK).

Elsewhere, Ake, Reijnders and Ait-Nouri faced off in a friendly between the Netherlands and Algeria.

Reijnders and Ait-Nouri both started proceedings, with the latter substituted at half-time and Ake introduced from the bench for the second 45.

It would ultimately be the Algerians who came out on top though, with Anis Hadj Moussa firing home a late winner for the North African side.

The Netherlands face Uzbekistan on Monday 8 June in a final World Cup warm-up match, seeing Ake and Reijnders face City team-mate Abdukodir Khusanov.

Ait-Nouri’s Algeria, meanwhile, are set to face Bolivia on Wednesday 10 June.
