Four Lyon players missed Monday morning training before the Champions League third qualifying round first leg at Sparta Prague on Tuesday at 20:00, the club's first competitive match of 2026-27. The return leg is on 11.

According to L'Équipe, Pavel Sulc, Mads Bidstrup and Khalis Merah worked indoors on tailored programmes. Sulc and Bidstrup are carrying knocks and are receiving treatment, while Merah is recovering from an ankle sprain. Nicolas Tagliafico, a 2026 World Cup runner-up, has not yet returned from post-tournament leave.

Moussa Niakhaté, suspended for the first European leg, took part in the session. New signing Felix Bacher, the Austrian centre-back contracted until 2031, also trained with the group. The tie will be OL's 303rd European fixture.

The squad were due to lunch in Décines at midday, then depart from Saint-Exupéry airport for Prague around 17:00.

Head coach Paulo Fonseca will hold a press conference on arrival, not before 19:15, alongside goalkeeper Dominik Greif.
