As the business end of the season approaches, where trophies are decided and legacies are shaped, clubs across Europe are already planning their next moves in the transfer market.
Real Madrid are not the one to be left behind.
It is known that the club has identified the centre of the pitch as a priority area, with a marquee signing expected to arrive in the summer.
While several high-profile names such as Vitinha, Rodri and Alexis Mac Allister have all been linked, one player has stood out for a very different reason – intent.
That player is Enzo Fernandez.
Currently contracted to Chelsea until 2032, any move for the Argentine midfielder would demand a fee well in excess of €100 million.
Despite that, here are four reasons why Real Madrid should still make a move for the midfield orchestrator.

One of the biggest tactical advantages of signing Enzo lies in how it would mould Madrid’s midfield dynamic, particularly the role of Federico Valverde.
Valverde has been one of the club’s most reliable performers this season, contributing eight goals and 12 assists.
However, much of his work still involves covering ground and supporting deeper phases of play.
With Enzo in the side, that could change.
The Argentine thrives in deeper areas, dictating tempo, progressing the ball, and controlling the rhythm of matches.
His ability to build from the back and carry the ball forward would allow Valverde to operate higher up the pitch, where his pace, energy, and finishing ability can be far more decisive.
Simply put, Madrid would not just be signing a midfielder; they would be unlocking another dimension of Valverde’s game.
Another key reason behind Madrid’s interest is Enzo’s composure under pressure.
Against teams that press aggressively, having a midfielder who can receive, turn, and progress the ball is invaluable.
Enzo offers exactly that.
His technical security and vision would allow Real Madrid to maintain control in tight situations, something that has occasionally been lacking in high-intensity matches.
His presence would bring calmness and structure, helping Madrid dictate games rather than react to them.

Low blocks remain one of the biggest tactical challenges in modern football, especially for dominant teams like Real Madrid.
This is where Enzo’s qualities stand out once again.
His ability to play incisive passes, make late runs into the box, and create overloads adds a new layer to Madrid’s attacking play.
Rather than relying solely on wide players or moments of individual brilliance, the team would gain a central creative force capable of unlocking compact defences.
Simply put, he gives Madrid another weapon, and one they currently lack in midfield.
While tactical fit and quality are crucial, transfers of this magnitude often come down to one factor – the player’s willingness.
In this case, Enzo himself has already dropped a significant hint about his future preferences.
Speaking about his admiration for Spain and Madrid, the Argentine did little to hide his feelings.
“I’d like to live in Spain. I really like Madrid. It reminds me of Buenos Aires. I would live in Madrid.
“A player lives wherever he wants. I can get by in English, but I’d be better with Spanish,” he said.
These words, understandably so, are unlikely to go unnoticed in Madrid.
They reveal not just admiration, but comfort – a sense that the player already sees himself adapting to life in the Spanish capital.
Despite all this, there is no denying the complexity of this transfer, as Chelsea hold a long-term contract, and they are under no pressure to sell cheaply.
However, Real Madrid have built a reputation for securing elite talent when the conditions align, and since the player is keen on the move, a strong effort is worth it.
