Franck Rizzetto sacked, Frédéric Gueguen takes over at Grenoble Foot 38 | OneFootball

Grenoble have sacked head coach Franck Rizzetto after a run of seven matches without a win, with assistant Frédéric Gueguen promoted to take charge. The decision was announced on Monday.

The club said in a statement that results had fallen well short of objectives and, by mutual agreement, the technical staff would change, while acknowledging the coach’s professionalism. From training on Tuesday 24 March 2026, the first team will be under Gueguen’s responsibility alongside the existing staff.

Rizzetto’s stint, which began on 18 January 2025, comes to an end with Grenoble struggling for form.

Friday’s 3-2 defeat at Laval, 17th in Ligue 2 and winless at home before then this season, proved decisive for the board.

GF38 sit 13th in the table, seven points clear of Amiens in the relegation play-off place.
