Thomas Frank says he hopes Randal Kolo Muani’s performance against Eintracht Frankfurt can give him the confidence to take his form in Europe into the Premier League.
Kolo Muani opened the scoring for Spurs as they won 2-0 in Germany, with Dominic Solanke grabbing the second off the bench to send his side through to the Champions League round of 16.
Frenchman Kolo Muani, who is on loan at Tottenham from PSG, has struggled for form in the Premier League having yet to find the net, but has scored three times in seven Champions League games this season.
There has been reports that Juventus, where Kolo Muani spent last season on loan, were keen on re-signing the 27-year-old which would mean his loan spell in north London being cut short.
But Frank is backing him to have a bigger impact for his side in the Premier League.
“First of all, I was very happy that he scored the goal,” Frank said.
“I think, actually, he looked like a threat. He almost got an assist with the first one that was disallowed. He was very involved in that. Great action. I think he has had great actions throughout the game.
“So I’m very happy that he got the goal and I said to him, please start scoring against others than your former clubs, that would be nice.
“But we know when you come to a new club, a new country, it’s never straightforward and never in the Premier League. I hope this will give him some confidence.”
