According to Leedsunited.news, Chelsea have received an approach from Frank Lampard to take Tyrique George to Coventry City in January, a player also on Leeds United’s radar.

Leeds are expected to be active next month, with Daniel Farke expected to pursue an attacker after missing out on Harry Wilson in the summer. Dan James is sidelined until the end of January and may be out longer while he completes rehab, leaving Leeds light in attack.

Fulham’s inability to complete a £22m deal for George meant Wilson did not move to Leeds in the summer. The England U21 international has remained at Chelsea. His minutes have dipped with Chelsea in the Champions League rather than the Conference League, and Leeds are weighing up a move.

Lampard has asked about George for a January switch to Coventry, viewed as ambitious given Coventry remain in the Championship. The report adds that George wants to leave next month, his agents are working on it, and Chelsea would sell for the right fee.

Leeds’ recent switch to 3-5-2 has reduced the need for wingers such as George, shifting emphasis towards defence. If anything, a centre-back could be the priority in January.
