Frank Lampard’s Coventry among three Premier League clubs interested in Chelsea forward Mykhailo Mudryk | OneFootball

Coventry City have emerged as a surprise destination for Mykhailo Mudryk, as their boss Frank Lampard is keen to reunite with the Chelsea winger. 

According to the Daily Mail, Coventry are among three Premier League clubs who are monitoring the 25-year-old’s situation at Stamford Bridge. 

Lampard, who led the Sky Blues to the Championship title last season, is keen to bolster his ranks to keep his side in the English top-flight. He admires Mudryk and wants to bring him to Coventry.

The Ukraine international is free to play football again after a resolution was reached between the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) and the Football Association (FA) over an anti-doping violation. 

Chelsea have received enquiries from several clubs since his return to football. 

The Blues have made no decision yet, as they plan to assess the player first. 

Mudryk has travelled to Hong Kong to join his team-mates on their pre-season tour. Manager Xabi Alonso will assess his performance levels before making a call on his future. 

The forward hasn’t played for the West London outfit since November 2024 when he scored to help his club beat Heidenheim in a Conference League match. 

Mudryk joined Chelsea from Shakhtar Donetsk in a deal worth up to £89 million in January 2023. He has scored 10 goals and provided 11 assists in 73 appearances across all competitions. 

The Ukrainian will likely face a significant hurdle to reignite his career at the Blues. 

Alonso has made it clear he will welcome the forward with open arms, but it is unclear how he will fit into his plans. 

The Spanish boss already has Jamie Gittens as an option on the left wing. Dastan Satpayev will also join the Premier League outfit this month.
