Markus Krösche, Eintracht Frankfurt’s board member for sport, is said to have been added to AC Milan’s shortlist after Austria coach Ralf Rangnick turned the role down.

He is reported to be among the leading candidates for a position in Milan’s management, with the Italian club seeking a new sporting director following a wave of dismissals.

Krösche is under contract at Frankfurt until 2028, and the club are keen to extend those terms.

Should Milan open talks and persuade him to move, the situation could become difficult for Eintracht.

A departure shortly before the transfer window opens would be a severe blow for the Hessen side. Recently, Krösche resolved the coaching situation after Albert Riera’s dismissal, paving the way for the return of Adi Hütter.
