Leeds United have kicked off their window by signing free agent Harry Wilson, the Wales international joining on a deal to June 2030. The work will continue, with the goalkeeping position needing attention and possible additions at centre back and in central midfield.
Leeds are being linked with Julian Brandt, Mandela Keita, Leo Scienza, Roony Bardghji and Ousman Diomande. According to Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona could look to loan Bardghji.
Brandt, 30, is a free agent after seven years at Borussia Dortmund and has 48 Germany caps. Spain or a club guaranteed Champions or Europa League football in 2026/27 is viewed as likelier, but his reliability, at least 40 appearances in 10 of the last 11 seasons, is compelling.
Midfielder Keita has gathered traction over the last fortnight and has also been mentioned alongside Parma team-mate Zion Suzuki. He helped Parma settle after promotion to Serie A and is seen as a young, technically strong option with significant upside.
There has been limited noise around Southampton winger Scienza beyond claims of internal checks by Premier League rivals. He shone last season with seven goals and 10 assists, and with three years left on his deal, prising the 27-year-old away would be challenging, though his fit on the left with Wilson opposite is enticing.
Bardghji moved from Copenhagen to Barcelona last summer for around €2.5 million and sits behind Lamine Yamal. Game time has been scarce, one Champions League start and seven in La Liga, and Barcelona would want guaranteed minutes for any move.
Sporting Lisbon centre-back Diomande, 22, featured once for Ivory Coast at the World Cup. His size, six ft 3ins, ability to play through the lines and €80m clause, with four years remaining, underline why Manchester United, Arsenal and Chelsea have also been credited with interest.
