Porto beat Rio Ave 1-0 at the Estádio do Dragão to stay top of Liga Portugal.
Victor Froholdt opened the scoring in the 22nd minute, steering in from close range after Oskar Pietuszewski's pass.
Porto pressed for a cushion before the break, with Gabri Veiga rattling the upright and Diogo Costa saving from Tamás Nikitscher.
After the restart, Deniz Gül thought he had doubled the lead, but his finish was ruled out after a VAR review (51.).
Ennio Van der Gouw kept Rio Ave in it, saving from Pepê from distance (61.) and then blocking Pablo Rosario's point-blank header (86.). Rodrigo Mora struck the post late on as the hosts pushed to kill the game (89.).
Porto's control showed in the numbers, with 16 attempts, 10 corners and 55.4% possession. Rio Ave registered one effort on target and made 30 clearances as they dug in.
