The injuries to Benoit Badiashile and Josh Acheampong aren’t thought to be serious according to journalist David Ornstein.

Both Badiashile and Acheampong had to be subbed off in the second half of the win against Liverpool, with Chelsea finishing the game with a centre back pairing of Reece James and Jorrel Hato.

For the visit of Liverpool the Blues were without Tosin Adarabioyo, Trevoh Chalobah and Wesley Fofana, although the trio are expected to all be available after the international break.

Assistant manager Willy Caballero seemed to indicate Badiashile and Acheampong were ok after the Liverpool game, and Ornstein has now provided an update on the injuries.

“I don’t know the the durations but I I don’t think they’re bad ones. Um so that’s a positive for Chelsea fans.”

Maresca has spoken about how much he likes Badiashile, whilst Acheampong has received plenty of plaudits fort his performance against Liverpool, and the sooner the pair are available the better.

Enzo Maresca must decide on a first choice pairing

Maresca is set to have a number of options available to him again at centre back after the international break, and he’s now tasked with picking his best pairing.

Chelsea don’t want to be in a situation where they are chopping and changing their centre backs from game to game.
