Frosinone reject Rangers bid for Fares Ghedjemis | OneFootball

Rangers have seen a bid for Fares Ghedjemis turned down by Frosinone as the Ibrox club continues to search for attacking reinforcements ahead of the new season.

According to respected Italian transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio, the Serie A side rejected an offer worth around £8.6million (€10m) for the Rangers target.

The Light Blues have made Ghedjemis a leading attacking target this summer after the 23-year-old enjoyed a sensational campaign in Serie B.

The highly-rated Algerian winger scored 15 goals and provided three assists as his side secured promotion back to Italy’s top flight.

His performances have attracted interest from across Europe, with Rangers facing competition for his signature.

Celtic were also credited with making a £6 million (€7m) offer during the weekend, although Frosinone knocked back that proposal.

Born in France but representing Algeria at international level, Ghedjemis is capable of playing across the front line but is most effective on the right wing.

He has already earned senior international recognition and featured for Algeria on the World Cup stage, further enhancing his growing reputation.

Rangers have already been active in the transfer market this summer, bringing in Dan Neil, Ivan Pandur, Ben Godfrey, Lawrence Shankland, and Ross McCrorie.

The Gers have also signed Cammy Devlin, Vanja Dragojevic and Olwethu Makhanya as they look to wrestle the Scottish Premiership crown back from Celtic.

Adding another wide forward remains a priority, and Ghedjemis has emerged as one of the club’s standout targets following his prolific season in Italy.

They are also after another winger Daisuke Yokota.

Whether Rangers return with an improved offer remains to be seen, but Frosinone’s firm stance suggests any deal will require a considerably higher fee.

With interest continuing to grow and rival clubs monitoring the situation closely, the Ibrox side may need to move quickly if they are to secure the sought-after attacker.
