Manchester City are in active talks with Premier League side Fulham over a potential permanent transfer for highly-rated attacking talent Oscar Bobb.
The development marks a significant acceleration in a transfer saga that has gathered momentum throughout January, with Bobb’s future the subject of sustained interest from both domestic and European clubs after City indicated an openness to offers.
Bobb’s situation has been shaped by a combination of added competition for places and a difficult run with injuries. A leg bone fracture in the opening week of the 2024/25 season halted his progress after a standout pre-season, and more recently he was forced off against Brentford in the Carabao Cup with a hamstring issue.
While Manchester City have always remained confident in the forward’s quality, his pathway to regular first-team football has remained congested and only became more difficult this month following the signing of Antoine Semenyo from Bournemouth.
Crystal Palace were among the first Premier League sides to reportedly hold interest, while Borussia Dortmund moved into a strong position amid talk of interest in an initial loan deal with an obligation to purchase.
But now, according to the exclusive information of Fabrizio Romano, Premier League side Fulham are in talks to sign Oscar Bobb on a permanent deal from Manchester City this month following a proposal worth around £35 million placed on the table.
Elsewhere, the report points out that Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund have remained keen on the Norway international since December, and are set to decide about whether to make a bid themselves or not.
The proposed fee would represent a major endorsement of Oscar Bobb’s standing in the market and align with previous suggestions that Manchester City would demand a big price for the winger.
From City’s perspective, a permanent deal would fit their broader strategy of balancing squad evolution with strong asset management, and the arrival of Antoine Semenyo has also been viewed as a key factor in facilitating Bobb’s exit.
For Fulham, securing Oscar Bobb would represent a statement signing at Craven Cottage and a significant upgrade in attacking creativity and versatility, as well as a statement of intent and ambition.
Regular Premier League minutes could now provide the environment the Norwegian needs to re-establish momentum and showcase the talent that made him one of Manchester City’s most exciting prospects.
