Fulham fight back to defeat Burnley | OneFootball

An entertaining second half saw Fulham come from behind to defeat relegation-threatened Burnley.

Scott Parker returned to Craven Cottage with his Burnley side desperate for points. The Clarets were a fair match for Fulham in the first even with Harry Wilson threatening.

The relegation-threatened Clarets eventually took the lead as the game opened up in the second half.

With an hour gone in London, Lyle Foster received the ball on the right and put in a low cross that Zian Flemming fired past Bernd Leno.

That lead didn't last long though and it was a mistake from Martin Dubravka that led to it. The goalkeeper failed to deal with a cross allowing Josh King to steal in and make it 1-1.

Not long after that the home side took the lead when Harry Wilson picked up the ball on the right channel and drove inside the box before in low with his left foot.

The visitors had a great chance to pull level shortly after that when Jaidon Anthony pulled the ball back for Josh Laurent to sky over the bar.

With the seconds ticking down in six minutes of stoppage time Burnley were reduced to 10 men and Fulham had their third. Substitute Raúl Jiménez found himself through on goal, one-on-one with Dubravka and was tripped by Laurent just as he was pulling the trigger.

The Mexican managed to get his shot away which was saved but the referee pointed to the spot and showed Laurent a red card. Jiménez then slotted the penalty away to wrap up the three points.

That result makes Burnley's faint hopes of a last minute bid for survival even less likely. Fulham meanwhile moved up to eighth, one point behind Brentford and four behind Chelsea.
