‘Full Verbal Agreement’ – Tottenham Hotspur Star’s Potential Exit Moving Quickly | OneFootball

Tottenham Hotspur defender Luka Vuskovic ‘has already reached a full verbal agreement’ with Brighton after holding talks with the Seagulls, as a potential move takes shape.

Brighton have zeroed in on Vuskovic to replace Jan Paul van Hecke, who is being chased by Tottenham.

There are signs that the move for Van Hecke to join Spurs is picking up pace, with suggestions it could even be done by Sunday.

Brighton see Vuskovic, who spent last season impressing on loan at Hamburg in Germany, as the perfect replacement for Van Hecke.

They are also aware that if Vuskovic is included in the Van Hecke deal then that will bring down the cash Tottenham need to pay, which would end up benefiting the Seagulls.

Such an arrangement would benefit Brighton as they would need to pay a portion of the Van Hecke fee, 7.5 per cent, to his former club NAC Breda.

Now there looks to have been a breakthrough on a player level with Vuskovic, with Brighton working hard and holding talks.

German journalist Florian Plettenberg wrote on X: “Understand Luka Vuskovic has already reached a full verbal agreement with Brighton following very positive talks with Fabian Hurzeler and the club’s hierarchy.”

Despite the positive developments for Brighton though, the road to Vuskovic may not be completely clear as the switch is suggested to be complicated, amid other clubs still looking to hijack the move.

Plettenberg added: “The deal remains complicated, but Brighton are pushing hard and continue to fight for the transfer.

“Other clubs are also planning to enter the race.”

Vuskovic was in superb form during his loan spell at Hamburg and his performances even saw him linked with clubs such as Barcelona.

Hamburg did want to keep hold of the defender, but were forced to concede the speed of his development had taken him out of reach.

Letting Vuskovic go to Brighton could well be something which raises questions amongst Tottenham fans, given his potential and experience at a young age.

There has been big expectation around what Vuskovic can do in the game, but his first Premier League steps could now come at Brighton.

It is unclear whether Tottenham might want a buy-back clause including in the deal, or whether they would seek to add a sell-on clause, giving them a stake in the Croatian’s continued development.
