Gabi Zanotti now Corinthians’ second top scorer in Women’s Libertadores

Gabi Zanotti's hat-trick, scored last Saturday against Boca Juniors, made history. Besides leading the top scorers in the 2025 Women's Libertadores, the Corinthians player reached a prominent position in the club's all-time top scorers ranking in the continental competition. With 15 goals in eight editions played, the number 10 became the second-highest scorer for Timão in the tournament.

Before her brilliant performance against the Argentinians, Zanotti shared third place with Millene, now at São Paulo, both with 12 goals. By scoring three times, she surpassed her former teammate and also left behind Grazi, who ended her career at Corinthians with 13 goals in Libertadores. Now, only Vic Albuquerque, with 19 goals, is ahead of her on the historical list.

At 40 years old, Gabi Zanotti has been playing a more offensive role under the command of Lucas Piccinato. The midfielder has stopped playing as a playmaker and started positioning herself closer to the area, finishing frequently. The result has been impressive: six goals in four matches in the current edition of the Libertadores, putting her at the top of the scoring chart — ahead of Valencia from Colo-Colo, who has five goals.

Wearing the captain's armband, Zanotti is also the top scorer for Corinthians this season. Living her best moment in numbers since arriving at Parque São Jorge, she has already scored 18 goals in 2025, while Vic Albuquerque is in second place with 14.

This is also Zanotti's most productive year in the Libertadores. Her journey in the competition shows five goals in 2024, one in 2022, one in 2023, and two in 2021 — remembering that the 2020 and 2021 editions took place in the same year due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Timão's next challenge will be against Ferroviária in the Libertadores semifinal next Wednesday, the 15th. The loyal fans hope that Zanotti maintains her scoring pace and continues to be decisive on the path to another continental title.
