Fanatik reports that Galatasaray have been offered the chance to sign Manchester City midfielder Phil Foden on loan as they evaluate their playmaker options.
The proposal was presented to president Dursun Özbek and senior executives by Italian agent George Gardi, who has handled marquee arrivals for the club in recent years, during transfer planning meetings.
Foden’s name was passed to head coach Okan Buruk, but Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes remains the preferred candidate for the No 10 role.
Any loan is complicated on City’s side. The club are said to want a one-year contract extension before approving a move, with the 26-year-old in the final season of his deal.
Galatasaray remain in contact with Gardi and would require a realistic purchase option in any agreement before making a formal bid.
After Dries Mertens’ departure, the champions are seeking a marquee creator for domestic competition and the UEFA Champions League.
Foden is valued at €70 million and would be a major signing, but the club are still weighing options, with Fernandes marginally ahead in current planning.
