Ademola Lookman didn’t transfer late, but the saga isn’t necessarily over yet, as Galatasaray have shown some interest. The window ends on September 12th in Turkey, but the deadline to submit the UEFA lists is the same as in the rest of Europe, and it is imminent.

According to Mediaset, the Cimbom inquired about adding the Nigerian star on an initial loan, but La Dea rebuffed them. Bayern Munich did the same on Monday, but the Bergamaschi maintained their position. The Bavarians ended up onboarding Nicolas Jackson from Chelsea on a massively expensive deal, albeit with a temporary formula at first.

Tottenham kicked the tires on Lookman, but they opted to sign a different type of forward, Randal Kolo Muani, on a simple loan from PSG. The electrifying attacker has been training on his own since returning from his impromptu vacation to force his way to Inter. He reported back after those talks fell through.

Per Gianluca Di Marzio (via Tuttomercatoweb), Galatasaray and eventually the Saudi sides will have to be willing to acquire the 27-year-old permanently. The Orobici are refusing different formulas.

Our Take on Lookman

It’s one of the very rare instances where a player doesn’t get his way. The fact that Inter ultimately didn’t go all the way to bring him in, as perhaps he or maybe even Atalanta thought, played a big role in the whole ordeal. We’ll see whether something similar to what occurred with Victor Osimhen last season will materialize, but La Dea doesn’t seem as desperate as Napoli was. If he doesn’t leave, they might as well reintegrate him once he displays some sign of contrition for the way he handled things this summer.
