Galatasaray are reportedly preparing a summer swoop for Southampton goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale, according to the Times.
He is actively exploring his options following Southampton’s relegation and is expected to move on this summer.
Southampton’s demotion to the Championship has activated a £20 million release clause in Ramsdale’s contract.
The 27-year-old is not short of Premier League interest. West Ham United and Newcastle United have been linked with him, although neither club has made a formal approach.
This could open the door to a move to Turkey for Ramsdale. He is eager to ply his trade at a top-flight club next season and boost his chances of a World Cup spot.
Galatasaray’s offer could come in the form of a season-long loan with an option to buy, mirroring the style of many high-profile Turkish transfer deals..
Ramsdale is expected to take his time before deciding on his next club, but a move to Istanbul could present the most stable pathway to elite-level football and boost his international ambitions.
Galatasaray have already signed Leroy Sane this summer but are still targeting further additions across the pitch. Ilkay Gundogan is also in their sights.
