Chelsea will welcome Newcastle United at Stamford Bridge this Saturday evening as they look to earn a win at home in the Premier League. The Blues suffered a poor 5-2 loss away at Paris Saint-Germain recently, so they would be eager to bounce back with a positive result this weekend.

Liam Rosenior will set his players up in a 4-2-3-1 formation and is expected to make a few changes to his starting XI for this game. Alejandro Garnacho, Andrey Santos and Robert Sanchez could all play from the start of this contest.

Defence

Robert Sanchez will operate in between the sticks for the Blues as he looks to secure a clean sheet this weekend. Wesley Fofana will play alongside Trevoh Chalobah at the heart of the Chelsea backline as they hope to keep the opposition at bay during the 90 minutes.

Reece James will hope to impress as the right-back, while Jorrel Hato looks to prove his worth on the other side as the left-back. Both of them will have to perform their defensive duties well before offering support to the front players.

Tosin Adarabioyo and Malo Gusto will provide cover for the defensive positions on the bench.

Midfield

Moises Caicedo and Andrey Santos will anchor the midfield for the Blues as they focus on winning the 50-50 battles at the centre of the park.

The gifted trio of Alejandro Garnacho, Enzo Fernandez and Cole Palmer will function just ahead of them as part of Rosenior’s attack. All three of them need to combine well if the Blues are to earn a good result this Saturday evening.

Pedro Neto and Romeo Lavia will be named on the bench as they await their chance to influence the game in the second 45 minutes if required.

Attack

Joao Pedro will lead the line for the West London club up top. He has to find a way to cause some headaches for the Newcastle centre-backs this weekend.

Liam Delap will have to settle for a place on the bench and might come on to make an impact in the final quarter of the match if needed.
