Roma lost narrowly to Udinese and slipped to fifth place in the standings, complicating their pursuit of Champions League qualification. A goal the Giallorossi have long eluded.

After the match at the Bluenergy Stadium, Gian Piero Gasperini spoke at a press conference, addressing the Champions League issue bluntly.

The coach responded decisively to questions, clarifying his perspective on the team’s progress and the use of young players.

“We’ll compete, we’re doing it so far, and we’ll try. Have I played a lot of U23s? But come to an agreement. One player asks me to talk about the Champions League, another about the U23s. We’re talking about guys like Robinio Vaz and Venturino,” the coach said.

“We need to come to an agreement, or we’ll always be unhappy,” Gasperini added.

“Udinese is eleven points behind Roma. Where have they been compared? They’re a strong team; Serie A is a tough league. Then, maybe at the end of the year, we won’t make the Champions League, and they’ll change coaches and that’s it. I work with what I’m given.”
