Gianluca Scamacca’s name is once again being linked with Roma.
According to Gazzetta.it, the Atalanta striker continues to cultivate his desire to return to the capital and has reportedly expressed his willingness to transfer.
The center forward, tied to the Bergamo club by a contract until 2027, met with Gian Piero Gasperini at a training center in the EUR district.
During the meeting, Scamacca reportedly reiterated his desire to wear the Giallorossi jersey, also declaring himself willing to reduce his salary, currently €3.2 million.
Atalanta, according to the source, are not opposed to a transfer, but value the player at around €25 million.
This figure is considered high for the role he would fill in the current coaching project. Furthermore, Scamacca and Gasperini maintain a particularly strong relationship, as demonstrated by the coach’s attendance at the striker’s wedding last year.
At the moment, however, Roma’s priorities appear to be elsewhere. The club is primarily focused on strengthening its attacking wingers, with several candidates being monitored by management.
A potential move for Scamacca could materialize later, but only following the possible departure of Dovbyk, who is listed among the players likely to leave Trigoria. To date, however, there have been no offers from Italian or foreign clubs for the Ukrainian striker.
