Roma faces a summer that could profoundly change the team.
To meet UEFA’s requirements and finance incoming transfers, the possibility of selling some of the squad’s key players is being considered.
As Il Corriere dello Sport reports, among the names under scrutiny are Svilar, Ndicka, and Pisilli: three full capital gains, given that the first two arrived on a free transfer, while the third came through the Giallorossi youth system. Manu Koné, who has long been followed by Inter, is also among the options.
If certain departures are made, the club could earn significant sums, even approaching €200 million in total.
This sum would represent a breath of fresh air for the club’s coffers, especially if they fail to qualify for the Champions League.
However, such a large-scale overhaul would entail obvious risks: dismantling the backbone of the team would mean starting almost from scratch, losing certainties and inevitably scaling back ambitions.
Gasperini, in this regard, has drawn a clear line: yes to sales, but without completely overhauling the squad.
The idea is to sacrifice a maximum of one or two players, while avoiding a mass exodus that would jeopardize the work done.
The end of the season, therefore, takes on crucial importance: between dreams and financial needs, Roma is playing for its future.
