Gennaro Gattuso wants Lazio to bring in Yunus Musah after taking charge in Rome.

Gazzetta dello Sport reports that Lazio have lodged the only formal offer so far, 2 million euros for a loan with an 18 million option to buy.

Musah’s career has stalled since leaving Valencia. He struggled to meet expectations at AC Milan and his loan at Atalanta was not especially fruitful.

Ruben Amorim’s arrival could have reopened the door at San Siro if he impressed in pre-season, yet he might not finish the summer as a rossonero.

Gattuso coached Musah for half a season at Valencia, often in a midfield three, where he perhaps showed his best level. Now in Rome, he wants to work with the United States international again and try to draw out his best in Italy, where his first two spells have highlighted his athleticism more than his technique.

Ipswich Town and Leeds United, clubs in the country where Musah grew up, are also tracking him and would like a deal for next season.
