Nine Lazio players will return from their respective loan spells this summer, but only Christos Mandas and Romano Floriani Mussolini are expected to dwell at Formello.

Christos Mandas Returns from Bournemouth Loan Spell

Il Corriere dello Sport (via La Lazio Siamo Noi) tips the duo to be reinstated in Gennaro Gattuso’s squad, barring any late market twists. The new head coach has already identified Mandas as his desired first-choice goalkeeper for next season, especially with Ivan Provedel expected to complete a transfer to Inter Milan in the coming days.

The 24-year-old spent the second half of the previous campaign on loan at Bournemouth, who opted against triggering their option to buy him for €17.5 million. The Cherries reportedly tried to renegotiate new terms, but Lazio rejected the offer.

Romano Floriani Mussolini Set to Stay at Lazio

Like Mandas, Floriani Mussolini returns to the Italian capital because Cremonese chose not to keep him beyond his loan spell. The 23-year-old could compete with Adam Marusic for a starting role at right-back. The Biancocelesti have already parted ways with Elseid Hysaj at the end of the season, while Manuel Lazzari is on the transfer list, and could end up joining Monza.

Fares, Artistico & Five Other Loanees Will Leave Lazio Again

On the other hand, seven players will return to Lazio, only to be shipped off once more, including Mohamed Fares, who still has one year left on his contract. Aside from the Algerian left-back, 23-year-old striker Gabriele Artistico is the most prominent name of the bunch. After an impressive campaign at Spezia in Serie B, he could join the newly promoted Frosinone.

The other players returning to Lazio are Filipe Bordon (Sudtirol), Alessandro Milani (Avellino), Leonardo Di Tommaso (Audace Cerignola), Davide Renzetti (Bra), and Pietro Pinelli (Reggiana). The club will try to find them new destinations.
