AC Milan will be up against Roma on Sunday and given the absences, Paulo Fonseca already has a pretty good idea of how the starting XI will look. According to a report, it will be a new attacking trio from the first minute.
With Yunus Musah, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Rafael Leao, Christian Pulisic and Noah Okafor out of action, Fonseca doesn’t have too many options from the midfield onwards. Against Verona, Filippio Terracciano played in the midfield tandem while Alex Jimenez moved to the left-wing position.
Against Roma, as reported by Gazzetta dello Sport, it should be the same attacking trio we saw from the 30th minute against Verona: Samuel Chukwueze, Tijjani Reijnders and Jimenez. It will be the first time for this trio from start, though, so it’s certainly makeshift.
Up front, we will either see Alvaro Morata or Tammy Abraham. The Spaniard is back in training but could perhaps be rested ahead of the Supercoppa Italian clash against Juventus. That clash is scheduled for Friday next week.
Predicted Milan XI (4-2-3-1): Maignan; Emerson Royal, Gabbia, Thiaw, Hernandez; Fofana, Terracciano; Chukwueze, Reijnders, Jimenez; Abraham.
The goal is to have Pulisic, Loftus-Cheek and Leao ready from start against Juventus, even if this will be very difficult. The American might be back on the bench on Sunday, while the other two are focusing solely on the Bianconeri clash.
