Gessime Yassine, Morocco's main attraction at the U20 World Cup
Moroccan prodigy Gessime Yassine is undoubtedly the biggest African sensation at this 24th edition of the U20 World Cup.
The Dunkerque winger has been the driving force behind the "Lion Cubs'" two victories in the group stage of the junior World Cup, defeating Spain (2-0) and Brazil (2-1).
The 19-year-old has delivered 3 assists, putting him at the top of the playmaker rankings in this competition.
He leads a trio composed of Argentina's Dylan Gorosito, Panama's Gustavo Herrera, and America's Benja Cremaschi, each of whom has two assists to their name.
Trained in France at Istres FC, he joined Marignane-Gignac-Côte-Bleue in 2023 before being signed by Dunkerque during the 2024 summer transfer window.
Now under contract with the "Navy blue and white," Gessime Yassine has seen his market value soar to 2 million euros.
