The young Como striker, Jayden Addai, holds dual nationality: Ghanaian and Dutch. The 20-year-old has yet to decide which national team he'll represent.
Should he choose his country of origin or the nation where he was raised? It's a tough dilemma for Jayden Addai. He was recently called up by Michael Reiziger to join the Dutch U21 national team during this October international break.
Speaking to VI PRO, the Purmerend native admitted he's torn about his international future: "Ghana is truly in my heart. Both my parents are Ghanaian. I grew up Ghanaian, but in the Netherlands. So it's a tough choice," he said.
"I've noticed there are few right wingers in the Netherlands. So that's an opportunity for me as well. It's great, but I don't think you should make such a decision based on the number of available positions. I believe you have to go with your gut, just like I did when moving from AZ to Como. Because you play for your country with pride. If I make this decision, it will be from the heart," he added.
After four Serie A appearances in a Como shirt, the former AZ Alkmaar striker has already scored once. It's fair to say his adaptation to Italian football is going smoothly.
