La Liga outfit Girona have this weekend sealed a deal for a forgotten member of the midfield ranks at Manchester United.
The player in question? Donny van de Beek.
As confirmed by transfer insider Matteo Moretto of Relevo:
‘Girona, just days away from starting its pre-season, has closed its third signing in the current market. It is the Dutch midfielder from Manchester United, Donny van de Beek.’
With Van de Beek completely out of the first-team picture in Manchester, the brass at the Estadi Montilivi have swooped in decisive fashion, to land the former Ajax talent for a heavily cut-price sum.
Up front, the fee paid out by Girona will come to a measly €500,000.
This payout could ultimately rise to closer to €4/5 million, depending on the activation of a series of bonuses, based chiefly around appearances.
Van de Beek will now open direct discussions with Girona, over the terms of a contract beginning next season.
The 27-year-old’s arrival, as alluded to above, will mark the third at the Montilivi this summer, following those of Ladislav Krejčí, and Abel Ruiz.
