Girona ‘very close’ to deal for Aston Villa star | OneFootball

La Liga outfit Girona are on the verge of closing a deal for a member of the defensive ranks at Unai Emery’s Aston Villa.

That’s according to market insider Matteo Moretto, who points towards Álex Moreno as the player in question.

Left-back Moreno is for his part currently plying his trade on the books of Premier League side Aston Villa.

Fresh off a season which saw him largely struggle for playing time during a loan with Nottingham Forest, however, the 32-year-old has been hotly tipped for a return to his native Spain.

Moreno boasts plenty of experience of La Liga football, having previously spent time on the books of the likes of Mallorca, Rayo Vallecano and Real Betis.

And as alluded to above, if the latest word stemming from the media over the last 24 hours is anything to go by, then a move back to Spain now appears to be all but imminent for the experienced defender.

‘Girona are very close to signing Álex Moreno.’
