Glasgow Rangers to sign Real Betis’ Nobel Mendy | OneFootball

Glasgow Rangers are closing in on a move to sign Real Betis Balompié centre-back Nobel Mendy (20), according to a report from L’Equipe. Mendy was previously touted with a move to Eredivisie champions PSV Eindhoven, but talks have stalled due to an administrative issue. PSV then walked out of the deal and chose to pursue alternative defensive targets, such as Killian Sildillia and Yarek Gasiorowski.

Mendy is expected to sign a four-year deal with Russell Martin’s Glasgow Rangers as the Scottish Premiership giants had agreed on a €3m transfer fee with Real Betis. Mendy’s deal includes a 20% sell-on clause. Mendy joined Betis’ youth teams from formative club Paris FC two years ago. Rangers face Viktoria Plzen tonight in the Champions League’s third qualifying round. The ‘Gers won the first leg 3-0.
