Goalless between Wycombe and Charlton

There was nothing to separate Wycombe Wanderers and Charlton Athletic in their League One semi-final first leg at Adams Park.

As the cliche goes, defences were on top in what was a cagey game between the two sides that leaves everything to play for in the second leg.

Indeed, the stats tell the tale, both sides only managed seven shots in each in total while the possession was virtually even (the home side with 48.5% to Charlton's 51.5%).

Wycombe's Will Norris was required to make one decent stop in the second half as the Addicks looked the more likely of the two, just about, to break the deadlock.

Matty Godden, who was the most threatening play on either side, stung the palms of Norris with his fierce shot. The goalkeeper was needed again from the corner to make sure Greg Docherty didn't score from the resulting corner.

In the end though, it was a forgettable first leg. Nathan Jones will be content for his side to go into the home leg on level playing terms although the Chairboys would surely love to disappoint the The Valley faithful.
