Simone Inzaghi has put squad rotation on “standby” for this evening’s Serie A clash between Bologna and Inter Milan.
Today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews, report that all but a couple first-choice starters will remain. Inzaghi wants to go all-out.
Inter Milan take on Bologna in Serie A this evening.
It is a hugely important match for the Nerazzurri. All the more so after Napoli beat Monza yesterday evening.
But at the same time, this evening’s match comes right on the heels of Inter’s Champions League quarterfinal second leg against Bayern Munich.
That was a hugely exhausting match for Inter. Therefore, there had been some suspicion that Nerazzurri coach Simone Inzaghi would heavily rotate his team to face Bologna.

But the Gazzetta report that Inzaghi has decided against removing most key starters from the lineup.
There will be one enforced change. Marcus Thuram is unavailable through injury, so Joaquin Correa will start this evening.
And then, Inzaghi has also decided to take Federico Dimarco out of the starting eleven. Carlos Augusto will start in his place.
However, beyond these two changes, there will be no major upheaval to the Nerazzurri’s starting eleven.
Captain Lautaro Martinez will remain in the lineup. As will right-wingback Matteo Darmian.
In defense the trio of Benjamin Pavard, Francesco Acerbi, and Alessandro Bastoni will start. As will Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Hakan Calhanoglu, and Nicolo Barella in midfield.
Sooner or later Inzaghi will certainly have to make changes.
But this evening, the Inter coach is going all-out.
Inzaghi has impressed on his players that he wants to start strong and fast. And avoid costly switch-offs in the second half. He wants the team at their very best despite their efforts against Bayern.
