Gonçalo Moreira made his senior Benfica debut, coming on in stoppage time of a 2-0 win against Nacional almost 200 days after his previous first-team call-up.
Glorioso 1904 notes that the 20-year-old attacking midfielder achieved a personal milestone under José Mourinho while wearing the number 77.
Benfica returned to winning ways in the league after a damaging draw with Casa Pia. Andreas Schjelderup scored on 3 minutes and Rafa Silva doubled the lead on 14, while a Greek team-mate missed a penalty that would have made it 3-0.
Playmaker on X highlighted Moreira’s first senior minutes, which arrived when the win looked safe.
This season he has played 34 official games for Benfica across Liga Portugal Betclic, Liga Portugal Meu Super, UEFA Youth League, Liga Revelação and the Premier League International Cup, scoring 18 goals with 10 assists. He is valued at 1.2 million euros.
