Gonçalo Moreira has been named Young Player of the Month for March in Liga Portugal 2 Meu Super. The Benfica attacking midfielder said he was delighted and highlighted his focus on the collective.

"This award is the result of everyone's work, the team. It was a positive period for us and I managed to contribute with goals and assists, clearly down to the collective. I am happy," he said. He was speaking to BTV.

"At Benfica it is always about fighting to win, also with the B team. That is reflected on the pitch and I think it was a very positive month for us."

"It is the result of work, I am used to working to achieve things. I know that work brings me closer to it, but without the collective it would not be possible to stand out. I always focus on the team. If the individual comes, it is because the collective is standing out too."

This season Moreira, valued at 1.2 million euros, has made 34 official appearances, 24 in the Segunda Liga, eight in the UEFA Youth League, three in the Premier League International Cup, one in the Liga Revelação and one in Liga Portugal Betclic. Across 2,337 minutes, he has 18 goals and 10 assists.
