Newly-signed Real Madrid star Dean Huijsen has confirmed that he spoke briefly with teammate-in-waiting Kylian Mbappé on Thursday night.

This, of course, comes after the pair locked horns on the international front.

Spain and France went head-to-head in the Nations League yesterday evening, with a place in the competition’s finale on the line.

The matchup saw the aforementioned Huijsen tasked with keeping tabs on Mbappé, as both Real Madrid stars were afforded starting berths in Stuttgart.

When all was said and done, it was the former who had the last laugh, as Spain emerged on the right side of a 5-4 result.

And Huijsen was also the recipient of an encouraging message on the part of his new Blancos teammate.

Speaking to the media post-match on Thursday, the young defender was asked if he and Mbappé exchanged any words on the pitch.

And Huijsen, in quotes gathered by El Chiringuito TV, went on to confirm:

“Me and Kylian Mbappé spoke a bit. He welcomed me. Good guy.”
