Turkish club Goztepe has been looking for Southampton forwards lately. That's why, after being denied for priority target Paul Onuachu, the Super Lig side wants to sign new signing Victor Udoh.
Come on, did you really think Southampton’s dramatic winter window ended already? If yes, then you are surely in for a surprise as they feel close to another player's departure.
But, unlike their past departures of struggling players like Ben Brereton Diaz, the one concerned here might surprise you.
We are talking about Southampton's deadline-day signing Victor Udoh. While it's been less than a week since he joined, Udoh might seek a move away.
As per a report from Yeni Asir, the Turkish club Goztepe has shown interest in signing him on loan. With the Super Lig transfer deadline till 11th February, the club still has time to complete a move.
Look, I get it, you’re not keen on waving goodbye to your new signing just yet. But hear me out as this move could be a game-changer for Southampton.
Firstly, a move for Victor Udoh would secure improving forward Onuachu himself, at the club. Further, it might give Udoh a new experience who anyway had to prioritize game development at the Saints.
After all, what could be a better destination for the player's development than your sister club Goztepe? If you didn't know Goztepe and Southampton fall under Sport Republic's umbrella owning 3 football clubs in total.
A transfer here would be one of the many switches between the two clubs, with the most recent being of midfielder Furkan Malak.
Interestingly, as the report mentions, Southampton is willing to depart Udoh on loan. Thus, all that remains is an official agreement for the move.
A Nigerian forward shining at Southampton? I think we have heard it lately. Can the young prodigy Victor Udoh repeat it in the future? Let's see.
