Graham Smyth's Leeds United ratings v Wrexham after 3-2 defeat in Tampa | OneFootball

Leeds United were edged 3-2 by Championship side Wrexham in their first pre-season friendly at the Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, a late lapse deciding the contest.

According to yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk, chief football writer Graham Smyth issued player ratings following the defeat.

Wrexham struck after 31 seconds as Kieffer Moore finished a rapid break. Joel Piroe then hit the post from the penalty spot before equalising from a Sean Longstaff cross.

Bailey Cadamarteri restored Wrexham’s lead after Joe Rodon failed to win a challenge on halfway. Leeds levelled on 45 minutes through a neat Longstaff finish.

The game appeared set to finish all square until the 86th minute, when United lost the ball on halfway and Sam Smith drove into the area, evaded tackles and fired past Lucas Perri.

Smyth’s scores included Alex Cairns 5, beaten three times before the interval. James Justin 6, largely steady after being caught high for the opener. Joe Rodon 4, lost Moore for the first, beaten by Cadamarteri for the second and outfoxed by Smith late on.

Alfie Cresswell 6, a fraction late to Moore’s run but assured on the ball. Jayden Lienou 6, positive in possession. Dan James 6, his pace won the penalty and he linked well with Wilson.
