Real Madrid, Barcelona, and Atlético Madrid were all in the running as well:

I was aware of Real Madrid's interest, but in the end, it didn't happen. They signed Álvaro Carreras instead. There were talks, there were opportunities, but nothing materialized. In the transfer market, there are always alternatives, but if it doesn't work out, it's simply not the right time.

Despite all the rumors, the Spaniard remains focused on Leverkusen, determined to take on the Bundesliga challenges and continue his growth in Europe.
